Vibro Replacement

Vibro Replacement is a variation of Vibro Compaction techniques, developed to improve finer grained or interlayered foundation soils which do not densify readily from vibrations alone. The technique consists of the installation of high strength granular inclusions called Stone Columns, which provide improved stiffness, shear strength, and enhanced drainage.

Advantages

  • Improvement of both granular and fine-grained soil layers to limit settlements, increase bearing capacity and allow the construction of shallow foundations
  • Very effective in mitigating liquefaction potential and limiting earthquake induced lateral spreading
  • Enhanced drainage accelerates consolidation time
  • High productivity
  • No ‘setting time’ required before constructing foundations
